about me…
My name is Meredith Callis, and I am a ceramicist working predominantly with porcelain. My practice encompasses both wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques, embracing the balance between precision and imperfect, handmade objects.
Porcelain is delicate before being fired, yet resilient after enduring high temperatures. This dual nature of the medium mesmerizes me, as it often echoes the human relationship between vulnerability and strength.
I am currently teaching art in a beautiful high school classroom in Nashville, Tennessee.
